Nestle Chewy Cocoa Brownies

I took this recipe off the back of a package of Nestle Baking Cocoa. We've loved it as our primary brownie recipe ever since!

1 2/3 Cups sugar
3/4 Cup Butter or margarine
2 Tablespoons Water
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 1/3 cups flour
3/4 cup cocoa
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 Cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Grease 9x13" pan. Combine sugar, butter and water in large bowl.

Stir in eggs and vanilla. Combine flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt in medium bowl. Stir into sugar mixture. Spread into baking pan.
Bake at 350 degrees for 18 to 25 minutes.

Two and a half years after this recipe was posted, I made the brownies and threw out the can. I couldn't find it any longer in the stores. Here I find it, and now it can remain a family favorite. I halve the recipe and bake in 8x8 pan. It's wonderful.
