Melissa’s sugar cookies

I don't like most sugar cookie recipes because they either require refrigeration or they are hard to get off (even floured) surfaces in one piece to put onto cookie sheets. Our friend Melissa gave us her recipe - which is super easy and very tasty! They stay soft, too.

1/2 cup sugar
1 cup butter
3 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
4 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt

Cream sugar and butter. Add eggs and vanilla. Then add flour, baking powder and salt. Cook for 6 to 8 minutes at 400 degrees.

I roll our sugar cookies out in between sheets of plastic wrap or wax paper. Then I don't have to clean up the flour mess and they come off of the surfaces really easy :)
